Selina’s Bacon wrapped Turkey

bacon wrapped turkey

Turkey (any size…the larger the turkey the more bacon you might need)
Bacon (1-2 pounds…the larger the turkey the more bacon)
Butter (1 to 1 ½ sticks of butter…again the larger the turkey the more butter) softened
Sage (1 tsp)
Salt and pepper

Preheat oven to 325 degree Fahrenheit.
Rinse turkey and pat dry. Leave out for 30 minutes while preparing sage butter.
Sage butter – Take softened butter and add sage, salt and pepper (maybe ½ tsp each…this would be to taste).
Place turkey on bed of onions in pan. Rub sage butter under the skin and on the skin of the turkey. Place the bacon all over the turkey as depicted in the picture (you don’t have to go all Martha Stewart like my SIL…but if you rock like she does then go for it!).
Bake in a 325 degree oven until internal temperature is 160 degrees. NO BASTING required on this bad boy!
Selina said this about her turkey: “It’s so easy… I put sage butter under the skin, then covered it with a pound of bacon slices… Baked at 325 until the thermometer read 160. No basting. Turkey was juicy and bacon was crispy.”
There you have it! ENJOY during your next holiday feast, or if you are like me, don’t wait that long!
