Glasses Band
With black, ch. 65, turn and hdc in each ch. across. End off leaving a 68 inch tail for sewing to hat. Pin band on hat at 2nd row above shoulder strap. Strap should join to either side of eye.

Mouth
Ch. 15 End off leaving a 4 inch tail, sew on between eye and blue.

Finishing
After making sure all your parts are placed where you want them sew them on with the yarn needle.

Note: For glasses band and straps, sew along both edges. For sewing on straps cut (2) 36 inch pieces of blue. Weave a small portion into hat to get it started in the same way you weave in finishing ends.

Hair
Using a piece of cardboard (about 3 fingers wide) wrap black around 12 times. Putting scissors between cardboard and outer side of yarn cut. You should have 12 strands.
Put hook through any stich on top of head, with a strand of black folded in half pull black loop halfway through, putting hook through black loop, pull other half of black strand through black loop. Pull tight. Place other 11 strands of black randomly on head. Trim to about half the length so that it ‘stand”up.

Braids
Cut (6) 24 inch stands of blue. Using all 6 strand at once fold in half and place on the bottom of the ear flap in the same way you added the hair. Separate strands into 3 sections (4 strands per section) and then braid. You can either use a blue rubber band (the small kind you use for ponytails) to bind.
