Creme Brulee French Toast

8 pieces Sour Dough bread (I used gluten free)
1 1/2 cups milk (you can use heavy cream, half and half or milk of your choice)
5 eggs
1 cup brown sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/4 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons honey
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
sprinkling of cinnamon
syrup or whipped cream for topping

This is a make ahead recipe….but I have made it last minute and it turns out fine.
1)grease the corners and up 2 inches of the sides of a 9 X 13 baking dish
2)in a small sauce pan over low heat, melt butter, add brown sugar and honey and stir until dissolved and bubbly.
3)pour into bottom of 9 X11 pan
4)lay bread down 4 pieces into caramel then the other 4 on top of those
5)in a medium bowl, crack eggs into, add vanilla and salt and pour over bread. Sprinkle bread with cinnamon
6)place in fridge overnight or for 8 hours
7)bake in a 350 degree oven for 40 minutes
top with very little syrup and whipped cream if you choose
